AI document generator: Word, PowerPoint and PDF files you can actually send

The Draimo team

A warm field of amber and gold light

Short answer

A good AI document generator asks what the document is for before it writes, works from your own files, checks its own arithmetic and produces a real Word, PowerPoint, PDF or Excel file with proper headings, tables and citations. Draimo does this in six visible steps, from outline to review, then lets you change it in plain words and keeps every version. Documents are part of Draimo Pro, $28 a month in the US.

Why most AI documents get rewritten

Most people who try to make a document with AI end up copying text out of a chat window and fixing it in Word. The text is fluent, but it fails in predictable places: a total that does not add up, a date from two years ago, a heading called "[Company Name]", a table pasted as lines of pipes, and a tone written for nobody in particular. Each fix is small. Together they take longer than writing it yourself.

A document is not a long answer. It has a reader who will act on it, a structure that reader expects, numbers that must reconcile, and a file format that has to open cleanly on someone else's computer. A generator earns its place only if it handles all four.

What a document you can send has to get right

These are the checks a reviewer, a lender or a client runs without thinking. They are the same checks Draimo builds into every document.

How Draimo builds a document, step by step

You ask in the chat, the same box you use for everything else. When you want a document, say so, or press Make a document under any answer. Draimo shows the price before it starts and walks through six steps you can watch: Outline, Write, Edit, Check, Design and Review. A proposal of a few pages usually takes about a minute.

  1. Answer a few questions: the reader, the purpose, the length, and anything that must be included.
  2. Draimo plans an outline, then writes the sections from your brief and your files.
  3. It edits for the reader, checks the arithmetic and dates, and lays the document out.
  4. It renders the real file, then reviews the pages it produced, including whether any page came out blank.
  5. You read it in the preview, download it, or ask for changes in plain words.

Formats: Word, PowerPoint, PDF and Excel

Download a finished document as Word, PDF, PowerPoint or Excel, depending on what it is. Word is right for anything someone else will edit or comment on. PDF is right for anything that is final: a submitted proposal, a signed report, a handout. PowerPoint is for decks, with each table on a slide of its own rather than squeezed under a bullet list.

Ask for formatting the way you would brief a designer: "11-point Garamond, 1.15 line spacing, APA citations, our navy as the accent colour", or "two columns". Font, size, line spacing, accent colour, layout and citation style are all honoured. If your organisation has an approved template, start from it: Draimo has a library of approved templates, and a template fill keeps the template's layout and reports any field you left empty instead of leaving a gap in the file.

Work from your own files, not from memory

The fastest way to a document that holds up is to give the generator the facts. Attach last quarter's report, your meeting notes or the spreadsheet with the numbers, and say what the new document is for. Draimo writes from what you gave it, and when something it needs is missing, it says what to confirm rather than inventing it.

Every plan can attach one file to a message; paid plans can attach several at once. Put the files, the drafts and the research for one piece of work in a project, so the next document starts with all of it.

Research first, then the document

Document writing works from your brief and your files; it does not browse the web while it writes. When a document needs current outside facts, such as market sizes, regulations or a competitor's prices, run the research first in Agent Mode. It searches current public sources and cites every one as a link you can open.

Then press Make a document under that answer. The answer and the question behind it go straight into the document flow, so the research and the writing stay connected and you can trace each fact back to where it came from. The guide to turning research into a cited report covers this in detail.

Edit in plain words, and keep every version

After the first draft, say what to change: "shorten the executive summary to half a page", "add a 10% contingency line to the budget", "make the tone less formal for the client version". Draimo plans the edit against the document's actual sections and tables before applying it, so a change lands where you meant it, and the totals are recomputed afterwards. If an edit cannot be placed in the document, it says so instead of guessing.

Each change makes a new version. Open an older one and restore it if an edit went the wrong way. For line-by-line polishing, open the editable copy and work in it directly. When it is ready, send it as a share link that opens with a proper preview, or file it in a project.

The Draimo team made these documents on the live product, and each one shows the real prompt that produced it. Open any of them to see the pages:

What it costs, and what it does not do

Documents are part of Draimo Pro: $28 a month in the US, or $299.99 a year, with 20,000 credits a month. The monthly plan starts with a 7-day trial. Each document shows its credit estimate before it starts; a two-page proposal is typically estimated at roughly 130 to 210 credits. If a document fails, the credits held for it are released.

Draimo is a writer that checks its own work, not a substitute for the person who signs the document. Read every figure against its source, and have anything legal, medical or financial reviewed by the professional responsible for it. You remain the author.

Questions people ask

Can AI create a Word document?
Yes. Draimo writes the document and produces a real Word file with styles, headings and tables, which you can download, edit, or keep working on in Draimo. The same document can also be downloaded as a PDF.
Can AI make a PowerPoint presentation from my notes?
Yes. Attach your notes, say who the deck is for and how many slides you want, and Draimo builds the deck. Tables get a slide of their own, and section headings become divider slides.
Will the numbers in an AI-written document be correct?
Draimo recomputes percentage lines and totals in its tables after writing and after every edit, and corrects the same figures where they appear in the text. It cannot know facts you did not give it, so check each input number against its source.
Does it use real citation styles?
Yes: APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard or IEEE. Ask for the style when you ask for the document, or change it afterwards.
Can I edit the document after it is made?
Yes. Ask for changes in plain words, and each change becomes a new version you can restore. You can also open an editable copy, or download the Word file and edit it anywhere.
Can I use my company's template?
Yes. Start from an approved template in Draimo's template library. A template fill keeps the template's layout and tells you which fields were left empty.
How much does an AI document cost on Draimo?
Documents are part of Draimo Pro, $28 a month in the US with 20,000 credits a month. Each document shows its credit estimate before it starts, and a failed document's held credits are released.
Is the document private?
Your documents belong to your account. A document is shared only when you create a share link or add it to a shared team project.

Describe the document you need, and see the outline before anything is written.
