Why a general assistant gets local questions wrong

A general AI assistant learns from a huge amount of public text. That makes it good at explaining photosynthesis and weak at telling you when your own school's fees are due. The second question has one right answer, it lives on one website, and it changes every year.

When a general assistant does not know, it tends to answer anyway, with a date or a figure that sounds right for a school like yours. That is the failure contextual AI exists to fix.

What Draimo does differently

It narrows where it looks before it answers. Tell Draimo you are at Strathmore University, and questions about fees, exams and deadlines are answered from Strathmore's own published pages. Pick a university whose pages Draimo does not hold yet, such as Stanford or Oxford, and it reads that university's official website when you ask, then shows you the page.

It says when it is not sure, instead of filling the gap with a guess.

Sources are the whole point

An answer without a source asks you to trust it. An answer with a source lets you verify it. For anything that matters, like a deadline, a fee or a policy, the source is worth more than the sentence.

Draimo also runs a separate check on the passages it retrieves before the answer is written. Passages that are off-topic are dropped, and so is text that tries to give the assistant instructions, a trick known as prompt injection.

Context also means your language and your situation

Context is not only which documents are read. Draimo answers in the language you ask in, across nine languages including Swedish and Kiswahili. Plans are priced in your own currency: kronor in Sweden, euros in Europe, dollars in the US and shillings in Kenya, where you can pay with M-PESA or Airtel Money.

What contextual AI cannot do

It cannot know what nobody has published. If your school has not put a rule online, no assistant can quote it, and a good one says so. It also cannot act for you: Draimo can tell you exactly how to apply, but the application still goes through the official service.
