Animate a drawing with AI: from a still picture to a five-second film

The Draimo team

Dusk rose and amber gradient

Short answer

Make your drawing into a picture with Make it art, then press Animate it on a Draimo Ink page. Say what should move, such as "the tree sways and the sun rises", or leave it to choose gentle motion. The picture is the first frame and the composition stays. The five-second video renders in the background, so you can keep drawing or leave, and it appears on the page when it is ready.

Describe motion, not a new scene

The best results come from small, physical movements that suit the picture: leaves in a breeze, steam from a cup, waves, a slow camera push-in. Asking for a new event (a dragon flies in) fights the first frame. Name one or two things that move and let the rest stay still.

  • "The flag ripples and clouds drift left."
  • "Rain falls and the street lights flicker on."
  • "Slow push-in toward the front door."

It runs in the background

A video takes a minute or two. Draimo starts it, remembers it on that page, and keeps checking, so closing the panel, switching pages or reloading does not lose it. When it lands, the panel opens with the video playing and a Download button for the MP4.

If it cannot finish, the credits it reserved are returned and the panel says so plainly.

Questions people ask

How long is the video?
Five seconds, at 720p, without sound.
Can I animate a sketch without making it art first?
Yes, but a finished picture animates far better: the video keeps the look of its first frame.
Which plans include it?
Paid plans. A failed animation costs nothing.

Give your drawing five seconds of life.
